In summer 2024, a working group from the National 12-Bell Contest Committee carried out a survey on how to define good ringing (or to be more precise, how to define imperfections in ringing). The participants in the survey were experienced ringers from teams who occasionally or regularly reach the final, some chief judges from recent contests plus a few other very experienced contest judges.
The survey produced some very interesting results and a reasonable amount of consensus.
The working group are now going through various action points arising from the results. However, there is no need to wait for announcements from the 12-Bell Committee or working group: we are encouraging all teams to just go ahead and make use of the results, so please have a good look at the results and use them with your team if they are of use.
